Ivan Ahlert is Vice President of FICPI. Mechanical engineer, partner of Dannemann Siemsen in Brazil, and practicing since 1981. Former guest researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Intellectual Property, and Competition Law.
Ivan has actively participated in the elaboration of the bill for the current industrial property law, in particular with respect to the inclusion of provisions on a novelty grace period, and contributory infringement and infringement by equivalence. He has also participated in several meetings in WIPO, in particular the Diplomatic Conference for the Adoption of the Patent Law Treaty, during which he has advocated in favor of the IP profession. He has extensive experience with prosecution and litigation of patent matters, and has authored several articles in Brazil and abroad, and a book about patent infringement in Brazil.
